Mila Paratore

Hi, my name is Mila. I was born in Florence, Italy. My family moved to several places in my early childhood and then settled in Florida when I was 12. Both of my parents are sculptors and followed their dreams of traveling and selling their art. My hubby (Mark) moved to Florida (from Peru) when he was 12.  We have two wonderfully spunky kids and live in Wellington, FL.

I’ve always had the curiosity of how food is made. I grew up in the kitchen, learning everything I could from my mom. Later, as I was studying at UCF, I found myself looking forward to cooking every night with my roommate and Mark. I left UCF in pursuit of all things culinary. I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2007. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing people; Most notably at, Osteria di Passignano (Chianti Country, Italy), Melissa Kelly’s: Primo (Orlando, FL), and most recently at the Silver Spork Food Truck.

While at the CIA, I took every job I could get. I worked front and back of the house at weddings, large events, corporate meetings, cooking classes, private dining, etc…

and even once on set at an Italian cooking show.

Needless to say… cooking is a bit more than just a hobby for me. There’s always something more to discover.

Stacie Maggio

Hi! My name is Stacie. I am a mother of 2 amazing kids and married to a wonderful guy who loves to be taste tester! My family & I are natives to the area but took a journey to the mountains of WNC a few years ago.

Having spent a few years living in Asheville, NC we were introduced to a different style of food. Where locally owned eateries strive to make fresh, seasonal farm to table foods with a hometown feel. When eating out in Asheville you have no choice but to become a foodie! I have brought that mentality back home with me and will be incorporating this methodology in my cooking and baking as much as possible.

I have been baking most of my life, having spent most of my adolescence in the kitchen helping my mom prepare or daily meals for the family. At an early age i took in interest in the sweeter side of cooking. My baked goods quickly because the center piece of most big family gatherings. After having my first child and not doing a great job at decorating the cake for her 1st birthday; I decided to officially take some classes and completed all the Wilton Professional Decorator classes.

Once I got the hang of things I decided to open my own business. Making celebration cakes, cupcakes and other treats for friends and family. After moving back to the Wellington area I shortly met Mila and then the idea of Whisked Away was born. I love baking cakes and any other sweet treats. It is truly a passion of mine and my form of creativity!
